PROGRAM OVERVIEW

The Game Art Diploma aims to prepare future generations of artists for the increased demand for high-fidelity 2D and 3D visuals in the ever-changing realm of games and interactive media, equipping them with practical experience in creating game assets and using 3D modeling software. This program helps you translate your creative interests into job-ready skills that the evolving entertainment industry demands, whether your career aspirations are in gaming, film, or real-time visualization.

 

Spanning 12 months and full-time, this course is built on the nurturing of artistic talent through modeling, sculpting, and texturing principles—and is integrated with interactive storytelling and game environment design. Building interactive, fully realized game assets teaches students to create immersive, believable worlds. They work in collaborative, studio-style environments that mirror real-world workflows, allowing them to think, act, and create as true game artists do.

 

Under the guidance of seasoned mentors, students embark on a hands-on, project-based curriculum. Whether it is stylized characters, photo-real props or detailed environments, they will build a portfolio that shows the studio their technical capabilities and creative vision. This reflects an opportunity to demonstrate experience in 3D modelling, environmental narrative, characters specific design, assets to ensure production.

 

Graduates will be prepared to enter the job market as 3D Modelers, Game Artists, and Real-Time 3D Artists with the right skill set, experience, and portfolio to succeed in the gaming and digital media industry.

DURATION: 12 Months (Full-Time)

International Students are required to enroll in the full-time track.

STUDENT-TO-LECTURER RATIO: 18 Students : 1 Lecturer

MODE OF DELIVERY: In-person classroom learning (no mode switching after commencement)

GRADUATION REQUIREMENTS: A pass in all modules within the maximum study period is required for graduation.

HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS: Windows Laptop with i7 (13th Gen) or Ryzen 7 processor  | 16 GB RAM (32 GB recommended) | NVIDIA RTX 2060 GPU or above | 500GB SSD (1TB recommended) | Drawing Tablet (Wacom One preferred)

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION AND ASSESSMENT: Lectures + Practical sessions. All modules are assessed through project-based evaluations.

GRADUATE WITH AN INDUSTRY-STANDARD PORTFOLIO

GAME ART FUNDAMENTALS

In this introductory semester, students begin exploring fundamental design concepts and artistic principles. The classes start with design sketching, perspective drawing, and then digital painting, teaching students to render shapes in 3D space. Learn to create 3D models using various software programs, including top industry software, and develop your understanding of how aspect creates a sense of play and story.

  • Game Asset Production

BUILD ON YOUR SKILLS

The second term expands upon character and environment design—the latter being two key elements in building the most immersive game experiences imaginable. They learn to think in 2D or 3D and then bring their concepts into reality through digital sculpting and designing environments. This stage consists of stylized and realistic texturing, as well as a need to polish their visual narrative to create production-quality assets.

  • Digital Sculpting for Artists
  • The training date goes up to October 2025.

PORTFOLIO

Students will be equipped with skills to handle complex final projects in a live studio setting in this term. They work on Game Art Projects spanning different genres, mastering advanced digital techniques. By the end of this program students will be prepared for the next step in their careers by assembling polished works into a portfolio, ensuring that they have all the tools and knowledge needed for a successful career in the Digital Art industry.

Kingston Chan, a Concept Development Artist and Art Director with 20+ years of experience, is also an Educator. He formerly served as the Senior Art Director at FZD School of Design.
With a background in SEGA Co. and Koei Tecmo, he’s committed to nurturing creative talent by emphasising art fundamentals in our tech-driven world.

Damien Soh is a visual artist based in Singapore, specializing in digital illustration. His versatile skill set also extends to freelance work for multinational corporations like Unilever, encompassing roles in visual development and art direction. Having worked as the lead illustrator for the short animation “Pagoda of Peril” for Universal Studios Singapore in 2018, Damien recently made his solo exhibition debut with “The Banquet” at Art Outreach Singapore, hosted at Gilman Barracks.

Banya has worked since 1995 and is active in the education sector since 2005. Banya is extremely skillful and knowledgeable. He knows a lot of shortcuts and techniques from his years of being in this industry.

His expertise is in 3D modeling, texturing & Animation: 3DS Max, Maya & Substance Painter, Digital Sculpting: Zbrush & Mudbox, CAD software: AutoCAD, Revit, Digital Painting & post-production: Photoshop, Post Production for Animation: AfterFX, Premier, Traditional 3D Sculpting, Traditional 2D Drawing & Painting.
